London slow to become the 'electric car capital of Europe'

Only 588 electric cars were registered since Boris Johnson's announcement he would ensure 100,000 electric vehicles were in the city.

 

 

 
Road haulage: EP introduces "polluter pays" principle

Revising "Eurovignette" road haulage tax rules will make it possible for Member States to charge hauliers for air and noise pollution costs, in addition to motorway tolls. A directive approved by Parliament on Tuesday will ensure that revenue from these charges is used to improve the performance of transport systems and cut pollution.

 
An innovative system will reduce the urban impact of refrigerated distribution

The EFRUD European project is working on a prototype for urban distribution of perishable goods which will minimize the environmental impact (emissions and noise) on cities and improve transport efficiency.
