Retailers show commitment to resource efficiency

The latest report from the European Retail Forum for Sustainability shows retailers taking the environment into consideration in their business decisions more actively than ever. Companies in the forum are paying more attention to the greening of their supply chains, sustainable distribution systems and the use of renewable energies.

UK traffic figures show improvement in journey times

Average speeds for weekday morning peak travel on locally-managed A roads in England improved during the last three months of 2011. According to statistics from the Department for Transport, speeds rose by 0.5 per cent in October compared with 2010, by 3.7 per cent November and by 6.7 per cent in December.

2011 Outlook for Europe’s Logistics Industry Favours Multimodal Transport

Rising oil prices, slow economic recovery and demand for more sustainable modes of transport are driving logistics players to consider multimodal transportation. The European Commission is also in favor of multimodal transport in its "Roadmap to a Single European Transport Area – Towards a competitive and resource efficient transport system" report.
